Detail ThePsychotherapy Matters Virtual Collaboration (PMVC) telepsychiatry platform, PM connects psychotherapists, primary care providers, and consulting psychiatrists to deliver coordinated, comprehensive, and patient-centered mental health care across Ontario. The PM model emphasizes collaborative care rather than isolated consultation, ensuring continuity through shared communication and integrated follow-up. Our system provides flexible scheduling, province-wide participation, and real-time support, allowing residents to focus on high-quality, educationally enriching psychiatric consultations conducted virtually. As a Moonlighting Resident, you will work in a supportive, collegial environment with direct mentorship from Dr. Allan Steingart and a network of experienced psychiatrists and psychotherapists. Responsibilities You will provide psychiatric assessments and focused consultations within the scope of your training and the registration issued by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). All consultations are performed collaboratively with a psychotherapist and primary care provider, with a supervising psychiatrist available for direct oversight and co-signature of documentation as required. The role focuses exclusively on psychiatric consultation; ongoing therapy and follow-up are managed by the therapist and primary care provider. Scheduling is flexible and conducted entirely virtually, outside of residency program hours. Supervision All clinical work is supervised in real time by a psychiatrist, who reviews and co-signs documentation as required. Regular check-ins, feedback and discussion of assessments, as well as direct observation is provided. Minimum Requirements PGY4 or PGY5 psychiatry residents currently enrolled in an Ontario medical school and in good standing. Restricted Registration license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). Appropriate CMPA (Canadian Medical Protective Association) coverage. Additional Requirement Approval from your residency program for moonlighting or elective participation.
