DIRECTOR OF BAND ADMINISTRATION – Permanent Full Time

Location: Biinjitiwaabik Zaaging Anishinaabek Qualifications & Requirements:
· Post-secondary education in Business or Public Administration or Commerce would be desirable

· Minimum of five (5) years recent senior management experience working in a First Nation or Indigenous organization

· Excellent knowledge of regulations and procedures of AANDC, and other government agencies

· Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel as required

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

· Excellent Communication skills

Duties include but not limited to:
· Provide Chief and Council with background information to enable them to make sound, informed decisions

· Presents directly or through appropriate personnel, standing financial information for the Chief and Council on a quarterly basis, including complete financial reports with variance analysis to budget with a breakdown by program

· Assist with hiring, terminations, reviews and evaluations in accordance with approved Personnel Policies and Procedures

· Develop an Annual Operating Budget for administration in concert with Chief and Council

· To ensure financial statements are prepared monthly for presentation at the Chief and Council meeting

· Responsible for all day to day operation and management of administration, budgets, personnel, activities and related systems

· To ensure a comprehensive strategic plan is completed once every five years and reviewed annually (coinciding with annual workplans and priorities)

· All other duties as assigned
