Our home office is recruiting for an Accountant to join our Finance team in Saint John, NB. We are a CPA pre-approved program training office, with a robust support program to enable candidate success as they work towards their designation. This is a great opportunity for an individual working towards or planning to pursue their Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the responsibilities of the Accountant will include, but are not limited to:

  • Completion of month end processes including accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Maintaining the Accounts Payable process
  • Administering the company credit card program
  • Completion and management of daily and monthly accounting and internal audit compliance activities
  • Aid in the preparation of external auditor requirements for the year-end financial statement audits
  • Participate in financial projects as required
  • Performing analysis and ad hoc reporting
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field and working towards, or a desire to, pursue an accounting designation
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail, and strong time management skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with experience in Excel
  • Experience using JD Edwards would be considered an asset but not a requirement
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
