If you like bringing your personality to work, enjoy having fun and creating memorable guest experiences, and want to develop your hospitality career…this could be the opportunity for you We are currently recruiting for a Director of Food & Beverage to join our dynamic team The Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the front-of-house Food & Beverage experience which includes the restaurant, bar, and event and banquet spaces. This includes overseeing all phases of meetings and social functions held at the Hotel and ensuring the successful execution of guest events. This position is also responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Hotel restaurant, ensuring the dining experience is exceptional and reflective of the standards our guests have come to expect from us. This position requires exceptionally strong communication and a collaborative approach with all hotel leadership team members and departmental teams while sharing their flair for style, design and culinary vision.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the food and beverage division by implementing procedures and processes that ensure success for the operations in Banquets & Outlets.
• Focus on guest experience and growing team members into well-rounded hospitality professionals.
• Responsible for ensuring the Hotel Restaurant and Bar provide service that exceeds customer expectations.
• Responsible for ensuring all hotel Banquet events are executed as per the Banquet Event Order and meet the guests' needs, including adjusting service to meet last-minute requests.
• Develop, train, communicate and reinforce the service vision and standards to team members and coach them in supporting the successful execution of the vision.
• Partner with the Executive Chef, General Manager and Corporate Director of Food and Beverage to plan, create and execute an innovative culinary vision for the hotel.
• Develop an annual strategic plan that will drive guest satisfaction, team member engagement and food and beverage revenue.
• Demonstrate exceptional leadership through a hands-on approach working alongside team members creating a positive work environment by leading through example, counselling team members, and promoting SHG’s vision, mission, values, and culture.
• Ensure food and beverage budgets and targets are achieved or exceeded, by capitalizing on revenue opportunities while driving a culture of high performance through training and coaching team members.
• Deliver service that is aligned with our vision to create exceptional experiences.
• Communicate through team meetings to discuss goals, share information, and collaborate with team members to ensure a high level of execution and engagement.
• Be an engaging leader who is highly inclusive, inspiring, and able to relate to all levels.
• Create a fun and supportive working environment where team members aspire to do what is right and are given the empowerment to execute.
• Oversee the day-to-day leadership of the front of house Food & Beverage operation, which includes Banquets and Outlets.
• Identify and resolve all guest concerns/complaints to ensure the brand promise is delivered; coach and empower team members to do the same.
• Demonstrate a high level of commitment to processes that allow team members to provide service that is aligned with our vision of creating exceptional experiences.
• Liaise with all supporting departments to ensure a seamless experience for our guests, ensuring our vision of passionate people creating exceptional experiences is at the forefront of every interaction.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management including but not limited to assisting team members with their roles during peak periods.

• Passionate about food and beverage, guest service and hospitality.
• Experience working as a Food & Beverage leader, preferably within a full-service hotel environment.
• Energetic personality with a collaborative and team-focused attitude.
• Strong desire to create and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Hands-on approach to training and leadership committed to developing and motivating the team to attain an exceptional level of guest service, driving a culture of teamwork and fun
• Strong computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office, is essential; Property management and Point of Sale systems as well.
• Organized, results-oriented, proven time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• A diploma or completion of post-secondary education in hospitality is an asset.
• Driven to deliver experiences that exceed guest expectations.
• Current Food Safe and Smart Serve certification.
• Available to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as required, including occasional Manager-On-Duty shifts.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
