Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Automotive Fleet Supervisor to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-efficient operation of our fleet, which includes both ground support equipment and street vehicles. This role involves overseeing the proper use and maintenance of physical assets, preventing equipment failures, managing costs, and fostering relationships with external vendors. The ideal candidate will work closely with auto mechanics and internal customers, perform regular equipment and facility audits, and monitor fleet vehicle maintenance. Additionally, this position is responsible for maintaining cost-effectiveness by identifying trends, monitoring key expense indices, and implementing cost-saving strategies. The Automotive Fleet Supervisor will also supervise a team of mechanics within the department.

Job Type: Full-Time - Permanent

Work Location: 12424 DIXIE ROAD CALEDON, ON L7C 2L8

Workdays: Monday night to Saturday Morning

Shift Hours: 6:00 PM

Duration: 8 hours

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and review preventative maintenance inspections, monitor repairs, and perform vehicle audits to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and appearance standards
  • Analyze equipment or vehicle system failures, determine root causes, plan, and coordinate necessary repairs with internal and external teams
  • Ensure adequate inventory levels of parts, tires, and other necessary items to support business operations
  • Adhere to purchasing limits, expense approval procedures, and equipment disposal guidelines to maintain budget compliance
  • Review and approve automotive expenses
  • Identify employee training needs and develop continuous improvement plans.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and resolve individual and group performance issues

Qualifications

  • Must possess 310T / 310S license
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical fundamentals, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair related to vehicle or aircraft fleet operations
  • Proven ability to manage equipment repairs and oversee the resolution of issues with tools, machinery, and other standard technical equipment
  • Strong capability to manage inspections, maintain physical assets, and develop working relationships with vendors
