We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Executive Assistant to support Homeward’s Founder & CEO. In this role, you will serve as the CEO’s right-hand person, handling administrative duties and acting as a key liaison between internal teams, clients, and external partners.
This is a unique opportunity to join a mission-driven startup at a pivotal stage of growth. As part of Homeward’s development, our intention is to transition our contractors to employment agreements in Q1-Q2 2025.
Support community centred public policy initiatives across various sectors, including housing, Indigenous reconciliation, health, and workforce development.
Opportunity to support the development of Homeward’s corporate culture and employee benefits package (coming in Q1-Q2 2025).
Flexible remote work environment.
Planning and arranging travel itineraries, accommodations, and related logistics for the CEO.
Serving as the primary point of contact between the CEO and internal/external stakeholders, managing email correspondence, phone calls, and messages.
Assisting in tracking and managing key projects, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholders are informed.
Organizing and coordinating events, meetings, and networking opportunities related to business development and client engagement.
Conducting research on public policy and government relations topics, creating reports to support the CEO’s decision-making.
Assisting with other administrative duties, such as ordering supplies, managing expenses, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the office.
Homeward's ideal Executive Assistant has the following characteristics:
Minimum of 5 years of administrative support or related experience, including experience managing a senior executive’s calendar.
Ability to make independent decisions using sound business judgment to prioritize tasks and facilitate executive decision-making.
Ability to convey complex matters clearly and concisely, high emotional intelligence (EQ) to manage diverse stakeholders with tact and diplomacy, and a proactive, flexible, customer service-oriented attitude.
Proficiency with project management and productivity tools like Asana, Slack, or Trello is an asset. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Google Workspace is an asset.
Previous experience working in government relations, public policy, or consulting is a strong asset.
Experience working in a startup environment is an asset.
A degree in a related field is an asset but not required.
Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
