Overview
Home Instead is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Caregivers. In this role, you will provide a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their homes and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care, and compassion.
Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Companionship: Provide conversation and companionship, encourage social engagement, and participate in hobbies and activities.
- Meal Preparation: Plan, prepare, and serve meals according to specific dietary needs and preferences.
- Medication Reminders: Ensure clients take their medication as prescribed.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform tasks such as laundry, changing bed linens, vacuuming, and general tidying up.
- Transportation: Provide transportation to appointments, errands, and social activities.
- Safety Monitoring: Ensure the client's home environment is safe and address any potential hazards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client's condition to the supervisor.
- Support: Assist with mobility and physical therapy exercises as directed.
- Respect and Dignity: Treat all clients with respect, maintain confidentiality, and uphold their dignity at all times.
Qualifications
- Compassion and Empathy: A genuine desire to help others and provide excellent care.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to assist clients with mobility and perform physical tasks.
- Reliability: Dependable with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Experience: Previous caregiving experience is preferred but not required; we provide comprehensive training.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required.
