Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Health Care Aide to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Health Care Aide, you will work collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary team to provide personal assistance and support services to patients who require short-term assistance or ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal assistance and support services to patients, including supporting activities of daily living and providing care in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with patients, families, and caregivers to provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs.
  • Observe and report on a patient's mood, health, and wellbeing.
Requirements
  • Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills to work independently and as a team.
  • Supportive Pathways/P.I.E.C.E.S course, Palliative Care course/experience, NVCI course, and It's Your Move course.
