Position Summary

Ensure an efficient running of day-to-day operational practices and standards to meet KPI targets. Manage 7 department managers and report to senior management (owners) on the business performance. Communicate customer service, service excellence, effectively manage staff productivity during lull periods and tight datelines. Ensure that daily operations are kept running smoothly and attend to any escalations. Work with senior management on strategic growth and business development/new client acquisition. You will have a 2 month thorough on-job-training by the previous manager on all aspects of the business.

This position is for an ambitious person with managerial experience to be part of a group with enormous potential for promotion through growth in our portfolio group of companies. You are a hands on, go getter and thrive on meeting targets.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Direct, manage, optimize daily operations.
  • Report to board of directors of this private equity backed business on operational, Sales and business development KPIs. Review and execute growth initiatives.
  • Undergo 2 month (paid) on-the-job training by predecessor.
  • Develop growth strategies for senior management and execute effectively.
  • Monitor, evaluate and motivate staff to achieving high service quality.
  • Responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction and service standards. Review underperforming bottlenecks or inefficiencies and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Work with each department head and get regular updates and feedback on the respective department issues or improvements.
  • Coordinate the daily activities of the production and operation teams based on route schedule/timeline
  • Oversee the billing and invoicing for all customers
  • Keep appraised with the advanced machinery and have a decent overview of the machines.
  • Ability to be taught and understand the basic technical overview/workings of industrial cleaning machinery.
  • Monitors all equipment and workflow to ensure optimized quality and service as well as safety protocols.
  • Liaise with vendors and contractors for product knowledge and to maintain their service standards.
  • Oversee strict compliance with all safety standards like DOT, HAZMAT, OSHAk
  • Lead any labour relations activities involving the plant.
  • Review current strategy and KPIs for potential improvements.
  • Engage in business development and inbound potential business to grow commercial accounts.
  • Maintain relations with commercial customers to receive feedback or improvements. Maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Establish operations and functional area systems to collect data, analyze productivity, and set performance targets in production, transportation, administration, sales/service and accounting.
  • Analyze and identify areas of potential efficiency improvements.
  • Future evaluation of investments into equipment, infrastructure, and talent for growth.
  • Keep appraised all off fixed and variable costs. Make recommendations to senior management on efficiency optimization ideas.
  • Engage in corporate affairs in broad strategic planning, reporting, and currently monthly results.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal skills (English).
  • Great communication skills and able to motivate employees.
  • B2B Business development experience preferred.
  • Logistics, supply chain, or factory production management experience a plus.
  • Ability to manage several dozen employees. Minimum of 5 to 7 years operations/managerial experience in a plant/production environment with proven track record.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Able to handle changing priorities as needed.
  • Proficiency and working understand of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proficient in learning and understanding the technical working aspects of plant machinery (will be taught).
  • Post secondary degree

Compensation

  • $80,000 per annum base plus benefits and performance bonus (potential total compensation growth to $160,000 over 3-5 years).
