Directly reporting to the Program Lead, the Shift Leader provides direct day to day supervision, mentoring and guidance to the Case Workers (formerly CSWs) in utilizing a trauma informed, indigenous world view and strength-based approach to deliver frontline services to the women of WEAC. This role is part of a multi-disciplinary team and has shared accountability to help the women at WEAC achieve their pathway to housing while ensuring efficient and appropriate daily operations.

What you bring to the team

  • You bring 1+ years of related experience working with diverse communities with varying and complex needs.
  • You bring 1+ years of leadership experience.
  • You possess a degree or diploma in Social Work, Human Services, Community Support Worker, or a related field.
  • You have a proven working knowledge of Housing First standards of practice.
  • You have the ability to maintain accurate records and report on outcome-based programs.
  • You are able to remain confident and calm. This work may involve de-escalating crisis situations with individuals under the influence of drugs or alcohol or experiencing a mental health crisis.
  • You are able to use Microsoft Office 365.

Important work you will do at e4c

  • Provide daily consultation, coaching, mentoring, and guidance of practice to Case Workers (formerly CSWs)
  • Support Program Lead in completion of all reporting requirements to ensure contract obligations.
  • Utilizing harm reduction and a relational practice approach; engage, support and advocate with the women to connect and rebuild their natural supports.
  • Actively engage in conversation with the women of WEAC on the topic of housing to support a successful transition to appropriate and sustainable housing, building a stronger housing focused culture at WEAC.
  • Monitor and review staff schedules and caseloads to ensure success of program outcomes and participant’s exit from WEAC.
  • Foster an environment that ensures WEAC core values and relationship-based practices underpin all interactions with women, staff, partners, funders, and community, ensuring women have the supports necessary to successfully transition to permanent housing.
