Senior Communications and Marketing Manager - Vancouver

Our Vancouver Client is seeking a Senior Communications and Marketing Manager specializing in workplace health & safety communication and marketing.

Requirements:
  1. 8+ years’ experience in Communications/Marketing and change management, ideally in government/public sector.
  2. 5+ years of management experience leading staff in a high volume and high-pressure environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
  3. Issues management experience and knowledge of stakeholder relations.
  4. Skilled at writing engaging and persuasive communications and marketing materials.
  5. Experienced in creating strategies to shift behaviors, awareness, attitudes with workers and employers.
  6. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Visio, and expert in PowerPoint.
  8. Able to write business documents and transform unstructured information into readable content.
  9. A University Degree in business, Communications, or Marketing.
Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Senior Manager Communications & Marketing is responsible for providing strategic advice and support to ensure the success of initiatives that support experience framework and organizational priorities. Develops communications strategies, implements tactics, and supporting materials, championing plain language, and ensuring the company is appropriately positioned while managing high volumes of work, meeting deadlines, and ensuring consistency of editorial and visual standards.

The Senior Manager Communications & Marketing plays a key role in the company's reputation management and development. Strategic Advice Marketing/Communications strategies: Advises senior team in Prevention (Workplace Health and Safety) including managers, directors, and the head of the division.

The incumbent also creates communication strategies and plans tactics and execution, sharing with departmental leaders as well as members of the senior executive; consults on alternative messaging and delivery. Promotes the organization’s strategic priorities within and outside of the organization.

Strategic Planning:

Works with the director and management team to identify and plan departmental activities, programs, and objectives that align with organizational strategic priorities. Manages projects and initiatives that advance those objectives and evaluates results to ensure desired outcomes are met. Modifies the approach in response to changing needs, reports on outcomes, and embeds learning in future planning.

Service Excellence:

Builds and maintains collaborative and respectful client relationships to ensure business priorities are addressed, activities are well-managed, projects run smoothly, and goals are achieved. Is accountable for proactively identifying and responding to clients' needs. Shares information across divisional management teams to maintain one voice and one team.

Champions plain-language best practices and helps clarify complex concepts for various audiences. Monitors and measures the effectiveness of plans and adjusts activities to meet business objectives.

Coordinates organization-wide communications with peers across departments to ensure timely and comprehensive information. Prepares detailed written reports and documentation for administrative and operational purposes.
