Apex Systems is looking to hire an IT Firewall Administrator for one of their healthcare clients in the Vancouver, BC area. T4Shift: M-F, 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hour days)Overview:The IT Firewall Administrators will support a variety of infrastructure and security projects within a growing security portfolio. The IT Firewall Administrator will work closely with the Director, Portfolio/Program Managers, Project Managers, Project/Program Coordinators, and a variety of internal and external stakeholders to effectively deliver business results by championing a culture of accountability and consistent application of project management practices.Responsibilities:Implement / change firewall, proxy IDS/IPS rulesWork with customers / vendors to troubleshoot project related firewall, proxy and IDS/IPS issuesUpdate project / operational documentation and progress production change requests as required for firewall and zoning related activitiesRequirements:4+ years of recent experience implementing / supporting firewall rules, active directory, and DNS in a large, complex corporate environment with multiple data centers.Strong understanding of logical network and firewalling principlesStrong operational knowledge of Fortinet/Palo Alto/Cisco Firewalls, F5 LTM, and Microsoft ISA/TMGExceptional analytical and problem-solving skillsSelf-directed, highly motivated, and results-orientedGood communication, customer interaction, and organizational skillsAbility to work on multiple concurrent projects and multi-taskTeam player with well-developed interpersonal skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsProficient computer skills using Microsoft OfficeCCNA or equivalent certification is preferred
