Established in 1922, the Fruit & Vegetable Growers of Canada (FVGC) is an Ottawa-based, voluntary, not-for-profit national association that represents the voices of fruit and vegetable growers across Canada. The FVGC advocates for the fresh produce sector, championing significant issues to promote healthy, safe, and sustainable food. Committed to industry growth and success, the FVGC plays a pivotal role in advancing the interests of its members, advocating for issues around labour, crop protection, environment, trade, etc.

Reporting to the President of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will execute a bold and compelling vision that drives the growth of the Canadian fruit and vegetable sector. A clear communicator, the ED will lead a team of 11 staff and steward a budget of approximately one million dollars, while aligning the diverse membership on key priorities for the association. The new ED will craft a government relations strategy, spearheading initiatives that solidify FVGC’s position as the primary authority on key policy and regulatory issues concerning the sector. Fluently bilingual, the ED will cultivate a collaborative, high-performing work environment to achieve the organization's mission.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader who seamlessly blends advocacy, strategic planning prowess, and financial acumen. With a proven track record in taking charge, this individual has elevated organizational profiles, fostered member engagement, and spearheaded initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. Les PFLC défendent les intérêts du secteur des produits frais et soutiennent des enjeux importants en promouvant des aliments sains, sûrs et durables. Sous l’autorité du président du conseil d'administration, la directrice générale ou le directeur général concrétisera une vision audacieuse et convaincante qui stimulera la croissance du secteur canadien des fruits et légumes. Soucieuse d’établir une bonne communication, la personne titulaire du poste dirigera une équipe de 11 personnes et gérera un budget d’environ un million de dollars, tout en ralliant les divers membres aux grandes priorités de l’association. Elle élaborera une stratégie de relations gouvernementales et pilotera des initiatives visant à consolider la position des PFLC en tant que principale autorité en ce qui concerne les questions politiques et réglementaires clés touchant le secteur. Parfaitement bilingue, cette personne s’efforcera de créer un environnement de travail collaboratif et performant afin de permettre la réalisation de la mission de l’organisation.

La personne recherchée est une dirigeante dynamique qui allie harmonieusement la défense des intérêts, un grand savoir-faire en matière de planification stratégique et le sens des finances. Ayant fait ses preuves en matière de prise en charge, elle a rehaussé des profils organisationnels, favorisé l’engagement de membres et mené des initiatives visant à améliorer l’efficacité opérationnelle. Grâce à sa prospective stratégique, elle a su démêler les complexités du milieu agricole, stimuler la croissance et garantir des pratiques durables.
