The Saskatchewan Council for International Cooperation (SCIC) builds momentum towards a just, equitable, sustainable world by enhancing the capacity of our members, educating & inspiring the public to take action, & creating connections among those we serve.

We seek a passionate & visionary Membership & Network Engagement Coordinator to drive membership growth of Saskatchewan-based international development organizations and individuals working globally for social justice. This position will develop and implement programs to increase SCIC’s audience and deepen our engagement with our community, offering relevant capacity-building events to support the Inspiring Action for Global Citizenship project funded by Global Affairs Canada.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Review new membership applications to ensure compliance with Membership Criteria, Code of Ethics, and Member Terms of Reference.
  2. Support membership application activities for the Membership and Awards Committee.
  3. Proactively increase membership and ensure member satisfaction.
  4. Manage annual membership renewal and surveys.
  5. Liaise with members, partners, and relevant regional and international stakeholders.
  6. Provide guidance and collaborative support for member-led public engagement endeavors.
  7. Coordinate capacity and skills-building opportunities for members as required for the Inspiring Action for Global Citizenship project.
  8. Ensure SCIC’s development principles, values, and crosscutting themes are integrated into membership and network activities.
  9. Keep abreast of overseas funding opportunities for Saskatchewan-based groups and distribute such information to appropriate members and stakeholders.
  10. Create networking opportunities and explore collaborative opportunities.
  11. Lead coordination of annual International Development Week (IDW) Global Citizen Awards and other member-based events.
  12. Coordinate issues-based networking events such as the Gathering of Global Minds discussion series and annual conferences.

Other Duties:

  1. Ensure appropriate quantitative and qualitative evaluation data is collected on all membership programs and events.
  2. Work within budget and deliverable guidelines as outlined by funding agreements and as directed by the Executive Director.
  3. Maintain accurate database and records for reporting on Program deliverables.
  4. Participate in staff meetings and program planning as required.
  5. Complete regular work planning and reports as required.
  6. Coordinate reporting content for the semi-annual and annual reports.
  7. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Knowledge, Skill & Ability Requirements:

  1. Completion of a relevant undergraduate degree plus 2-3 years of professional program design experience.
  2. Excellent written and oral communications skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Suite and cloud-based applications.
  3. Experience with member-based organizations is considered an asset.
  4. Experience working with government and non-governmental organizations.
  5. Excellent organizational skills and experience with program planning, development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  6. Knowledge of international development issues or practical experience.
  7. Experience working within a variety of cultural environments is considered an asset.
  8. Ability to be flexible and work in relatively unstructured situations.
  9. Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple deadlines.
  10. Experience or proven interest in international cooperation, non-profit, humanitarian and/or education sector(s).
  11. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as a member of a team.
