Reporting to the Vice-President, Research, the
**Research Engagement Manager** plays a critical role in advancing research engagement across all equity-deserving groups at the University of Regina. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating initiatives that promote inclusive research practices, support diverse researchers, supporting equitable access to resources and opportunities for researchers, and foster collaboration within and beyond the university community. The Research Engagement Manager will work closely with the Vice-President Research (VPR) and Associate Vice-President (AVP), Indigenous Engagement, to develop and implement strategies that enhance research opportunities within Indigenous communities and ensure equity in access to resources.

Key duties for this position include the following:

- Establish relationships with Indigenous communities and researchers for the purpose of addressing community research needs;
- Provide expertise and guidance to Indigenous communities and diversity groups as to how research can assist them with reaching community goals;
- Liaise between Indigenous communities and diversity groups and the university to seek university researchers with the appropriate expertise to provide research services to meet community goals;
- Identify grants to support Indigenous community research projects;
- Develop or contribute to the writing of research grant proposals and identify grants to support Indigenous-centred research projects;
- Maintain contact and coordinate/update on project activities;
- Post content to website/social media, submit documents for publication and/or media release;
- Develop effective communication strategies to promote research engagement initiatives. Create and distribute informational materials, newsletters, and other communication tools to raise awareness of available resources and opportunities;
- Facilitate collaboration among researchers from diverse backgrounds by connecting individuals and research teams working on similar topics or with complementary expertise;
- Promote cross-disciplinary research partnerships and create opportunities for knowledge sharing and networking;
- Enhance research support by identifying and addressing barriers to research engagement faced by equity-deserving groups;
- Collaborate with relevant university departments and stakeholders to develop and implement programs and initiatives that provide equal access to research funding, resources, and mentorship to support diverse researchers at various career stages;
- Communicate with researchers, community, advisory group and/or participants to support creation of a culturally appropriate data collection plan for each research community;
- Establish metrics and evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of research engagement initiatives;
- Regularly monitor progress, collect data, and prepare reports for the VPR, highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement;
- Identify necessary data collection equipment and support PI in acquiring;
- Ensure data collection activities adhere to ethics approvals and maintain confidentiality;
- Support flow of data and records to ensure it is correctly coded, transferred and stored at each research stage; and
- Other duties as needed.

Position Requirements
- Master’s degree in a relevant field;
- 3-5 years experience working in an academic or research environment, project management, coordination, or similar role;
- Strong knowledge and understanding of research practices, trends, and challenges, particularly in relation to advancing EDI and a commitment to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in research;
- Competency in project management within an academic or research environment including strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple demands of significant impact resulting from managing multiple projects in varying stages of development;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and form long-lasting relationships that will be beneficial to the University, researchers and communities;
- Analytical mindset and ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform decision-making.
- Exercise sound judgment in ensuring that sensitive issues or information are handled appropriately;
- Experience and knowledge of First Nations, Métis and Inuit ways of being, ways of knowing and traditional teachings in order to support the various worldviews of Indigenous researchers;
- Possess knowledge and appreciation of the nuances associated with equity-deserving groups;
- Require sufficient knowledge of administrative processes and record keeping to manage project
