Lecturer/Assistant Professor
Breast Imaging – Joint Department of Medical Imaging
The Department of Medical Imaging, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto and the Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) at University Health Network, Sinai Health and Women’s College Hospitalinvite applications for a full-time faculty clinical position as Radiologist in the Breast Imaging Division. The successful candidate must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. The anticipated start date is October 1, 2024.
The successful candidate will operate across all modalities in the sub-specialty of Breast Imaging, including mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, MR imaging, and image-guided procedures (predominantly ultrasound, MRI and stereotactic biopsies and pre-operative localizations). In addition to the clinical responsibilities, the successful candidate will participate in day to day supervision and training for residents and clinical fellows. They will participate in Journal clubs, fellow and resident rounds. The breast radiologists work very closely with surgeons and oncologists, and rotate through multidisciplinary and Tumor Board rounds at the 3 hospital sites.
The successful candidate must hold an MD degree or equivalent, must be certified or eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or international equivalent in Diagnostic Radiology, must be eligible for medical licensure with the College of Surgeons and Physicians of Ontario, and have had formal fellowship training in Breast Imaging. Strong clinical skills with experience in all aspects of modern Breast Imaging including MRI/ MRI guided procedures is mandatory. A strong academic background in research and education, along with a focused approach to creative professional activities, will be viewed favorably. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
