THE OPPORTUNITY:
OpenText is seeking an experienced and transformative Senior Vice President of Information Technology (IT) to lead the global IT strategy and operations. The IT organization has never been more of a strategic partner to businesses as it is today. The SVP of IT will drive transformation initiatives, oversee the optimization of technology infrastructure, and enable innovative solutions to support business objectives. The ideal candidate is deeply vested in understanding business digital roadmaps and transforming these business strategies into technical roadmaps, programs, and projects. Reporting to the Chief Digital Officer, and as a member of the senior leadership team, you play an influential role in shaping the culture of IT and your strong people-oriented leadership style is a driver in accelerating the delivery of technology and services across the enterprise.
YOUR IMPACT:
- Leading and inspiring your global IT team, along with your business partners, to evaluate new technology trends, develop compelling business cases, build strategic roadmaps, and ideate and innovate compelling solutions that maximize return on investment for OpenText.
- Driving the cultural changes necessary to transform the internal software development lifecycle to focus on increased agility and quality, increased automation, reduce time to deliver, and usher in a continuous delivery approach.
- Forming strong, lasting relationships across the enterprise. Advise, counsel, and educate leadership on opportunities to leverage technology to effectively meet business goals.
- Providing insights, developing, and delivering M&A integration programs. Through your experience, you know your way around due diligence cycles, pre-close processes, and how to identify red flags.
- Creating and fostering partnerships with our vendors and advisors.
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS:
- Strategic Leadership: Developing and executing on a comprehensive IT strategy, aligned with OpenText’s long-term business goals and transformation objectives.
- Technology Innovation: Drive the adoption of innovative technologies to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer experience, and foster new business models.
- Business Alignment: Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver technology solutions that drive growth, efficiency, and competitive advantage.
- Budget Oversight: Manage the IT budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and ROI on technology investments.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a diverse and global IT team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence.
- Vendor Management: Establish and manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with global IT regulations, standards, and policies, while implementing best practices in IT governance.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: 15+ years of IT leadership experience, including 7+ years in a senior leadership role, preferably in a large multinational corporation.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud computing, and digital transformation, and experience with market-leading platforms including Salesforce and SAP.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead global teams, drive change, and execute complex technology strategies in a fast-paced environment.
- Business Understanding: Deep understanding of how technology drives business value, with experience collaborating with C-level executives to achieve strategic objectives.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among senior leaders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a track record of solving complex IT challenges and driving innovation.
