We service the OEM market including agricultural, mining, and other industries. Our in-house processes include forgings, hot / cold stampings and weldments.

Position Overview

The Senior Planner will play a crucial role within the Planning team, focusing on production control and optimization. This position requires a strategic approach to coordinating production schedules, ensuring accurate and timely support to both customers and internal teams, and driving continuous improvement within the manufacturing process.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in production and inventory management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of related experience in manufacturing production planning, with extensive shop floor experience.
  • Strong background in manufacturing, accounting, and engineering settings.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, with a deep understanding of material planning functions, systems, and BOMs (Bill of Materials).
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate complex data, with experience in system cleanup and optimization.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset and ability to lead cross-functional projects.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build and maintain key relationships across various teams and departments.
  • APICS CPIM or equivalent Supply Chain certification is highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO9001/TS 16949 Quality systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee comprehensive production plans to ensure timely delivery of products to meet customer demands.
  • Lead and manage production scheduling activities, including the creation of capacity plans and planned order completion dates.
  • Oversee the release and management of production orders in the ERP system, maintaining optimal production load levels.
  • Establish daily production priorities and coordinate with manufacturing teams to optimize manpower and equipment utilization.
  • Collaborate with department heads to assess progress, identify potential issues, and implement necessary changes.
  • Monitor machine capacity and provide timely recommendations to management for capacity optimization.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks, analyze production performance, and suggest corrective actions to enhance efficiency.
  • Adjust production schedules to accommodate design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, in coordination with key stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update critical reports such as Open Order Reports, shipment statuses, and customer delivery forecasts.
  • Lead inventory management efforts to ensure optimal stock levels and resolve discrepancies or forecast issues proactively.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance teams for planned preventative maintenance to minimize production downtime.
  • Ensure that finished goods and WIP inventory levels are controlled and maintained in line with established goals.
  • Oversee the implementation of ERP systems in a job shop environment and drive continuous process improvements.
  • Mentor and support junior planning staff and other team members.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
