We are seeking a:

Clinical Informatics Lead

Full-Time, 1-Year Contract

Hybrid Model

What will be your role?

Provide informatics leadership and guidance through collaboration with interprofessional practice teams and the Digital IT group to customize, test, and implement application upgrades/enhancements primarily to our Electronic Medical Record System – EMRI and our Clinical Management system, Goldcare. This includes working closely with leadership and internal stakeholders to drive the development of product roadmaps and strategies for these systems. The Informatics Lead will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to the implementation of new clinical information systems and digital tools, by bridging the gap between clinical practice needs and technology solution design. Leading clinical change management will be another important function of this role to ensure the successful adoption and utilization of digital technology solution in a manner that is safe and complies with applicable health professional regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current certificate of competency (licensure) from the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
  • Undergraduate Degree in Clinical Discipline with a Graduate Degree in Informatics required. (Preference will be given to candidates with an Adult Education Certificate or formal education in adult learning concepts and principles).
  • Minimal 2-years progressive experience in clinical care, 2 years of experience in informatics required.
  • Holds current academic appointments/eligible for academic appointments.
  • Ongoing membership with professional associations.
  • Good understanding of the health care services and delivery processes in the community sector. 
  • Work closely with the digital leadership team and internal stakeholders to update and develop digital strategy and clinical product roadmaps.
  • Lead initiatives to improve clinical workflows and documentation by enabling clinical practice via digital tools.
  • Lead clinical change management efforts to improve adoption and utilization of clinical information systems and tools.
  • Ability to develop and facilitate operational reporting, process improvement, and enhance user experience.
  • Superior interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Awareness and understanding of all relevant legislation related to practice standards, standards of safety and quality, and employment standards including human rights legislation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to modelling lifelong learning and continuous professional growth.
