Position Overview

Clinical Informatics Educator
The Project UniPHI (Unified Patient Health Information) is a transformative initiative aimed at digitizing clinical workflows across all outpatient clinics at North York General Hospital. This project includes transitioning Oncology clinics from the provincial OPIS (Oncology Patient Information System) to Oracle's oncology module. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering educational sessions and facilitating knowledge transfer to clinical staff and physicians regarding the Oracle (formerly Cerner) system. Your dedication to empowering clinical staff to enhance their skills and comfort with computer-based clinical applications is essential. You will leverage your strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with a diverse range of clinical personnel. A solid understanding of hospital operations and clinical workflows is crucial, along with exceptional verbal and written communication skills to present information effectively to groups. You will demonstrate a customer-oriented approach and possess experience in customer support. Your ability to work independently, coupled with strong organizational skills, will be vital in this role. Collaborating with a large and diverse Digital Health team in a dynamic environment will be part of your responsibilities. You will also exhibit good problem-solving abilities and competency in knowledge transfer related to computer-based clinical applications. This position supports the hospital's academic mission by advancing care through education and innovation.

Key Responsibilities


• Develop training materials related to the Oracle system

• Conduct training sessions on the Oracle System

• Assess the Oracle system and computer proficiency of staff participating in educational sessions

• Track, maintain, and report on attendance for Oracle system training sessions

• Keep records of training sessions related to staff attendance and sign-off

• Support the implementation of Oracle applications and provide end-user assistance as needed

• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned

• Adhere to safety protocols in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act

• Bilingualism in French/English is preferred

Qualifications


• Undergraduate degree in a clinical discipline, health science, or Information Management

• 2 to 3 years of experience in adult education

• Proficiency in Cerner PowerChart Clinical Documentation, CPOE, and eMAR or related experience

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook

• Comprehensive knowledge of Cerner PowerChart

• Bilingualism in French/English is an asset
