Job DescriptionMLSE’s Broadcast & Content Team is looking for an Associate Producer to assist in the content creation that supports live broadcast and linear, and digital programming for the Toronto Raptors, Raptors 905, NBATV Canada, Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Marlies, and other MLSE clubs as needed. The ideal candidate will work closely with Producers and will have experience and passion working with basketball and hockey production to be able to stay current with season storylines, identify key plays, pull footage, and direct production editors to assemble highlight packages, stings, teases and feature content. Additionally, having experience with video editing, technical live-stream production (ie. OBS) and/or building out telestration packages is considered an asset.
Position Type: Freelance Seasonal Contract
- Contributing to development and research, as required.
- Supporting all aspects of production planning, including attending pre-production meetings (both virtual and on-site); content scheduling, footage pull and accume, music selection, and image pull with HSAN, Dalet and Media Valet.
- Attending team meetings, practices, games and other team activities.
- Assembling and editing content through Adobe Premiere Pro of highlight packages, short-form content, and other b-roll components pertaining to productions at the request of the producer.
- Help plan and attend shoots when needed, as well as assist with executing creative and technical needs.
- Liaising with regional networks and internal stakeholders for the coordination and approvals of various elements required for the production and communicating needs with the necessary lead time to support the production visually.
- Developing concepts for innovative content that engages a wide variety of audiences.
- Liaising with Team Media Relations for player and management interview requests, as well as approvals.
- Helping to ensure that all necessary rights and clearances are secured.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends and flexibility to be assigned to additional truck positions within the broadcast environment with proper training; including Replay, AD and ISO Director.

- Keen knowledge and understanding of basketball and hockey, with some knowledge of soccer and football.
- 1 to 2 years of experienceworking in a sports production environment, preferably with a background in and passion for basketball and hockey
- Excellent knowledge of basketball and hockey fundamentals with the ability to identify and deliver key plays and moments within a game with an understanding of needs and a creative eye for obtaining various camera angles when forming sequences
- Working knowledge of pre- and post-video production fundamentals.
- Some experience with digital editing and / or animation systems, telestration, technical live-stream production.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines.
- Knowledge and experience with all relevant social media platforms.
- Experience with Photoshop is an asset.
