The Technical Producer & Broadcast Specialist supports Sun Life’s broadcast services in the delivery of an inspiring array of live corporate virtual and hybrid webcasts, meetings, and events. With creative skills as a producer and technical skills as a broadcast specialist, they will employ practiced knowledge to guide and influence business partners on the design, strategy and service selection for events that utilize various virtual streaming and video over IP platforms. Using virtual and hybrid production expertise, the producer ensures that event production services are delivered at a high-quality standard and professional caliber. Demonstrated experience and robust understanding of in-person, virtual and hybrid broadcast workflows from a broadcast technology and IP-networking perspective is critical to this role.

The Technical Producer & Broadcast Specialist leads high-profile virtual events for our most senior executives with high expectations. The producer thrives in high-pressure circumstances and can adapt to last minute requests and changes with superb customer service skills. The producer is experienced in hands-on broadcast production workflows, control room management, show calling & directing. Pre-production skills are key to this role in assigning services, resource scheduling, sourcing suppliers & vendors and steering business partners on the most effective solutions to deliver program requirements. The technical producer leads and contributes to departmental practices, systems and training programs, improving the working processes and skills of the entire technical services team. The producer leads the adoption of new technical equipment and maintenance processes and collaboratively supporting team members as required as well as provide feedback and performance metrics on key technologies to the Broadcast Manager.

This in-office role is based at our Toronto office location, onsite daily to support events and collaborate with team members. From time to time, they will also support activities at offices and offsite venues. The producer reports to the Senior Manager, Broadcast Services as well as receives support and direction from Senior Manager, AV Services and the Senior Manager, Production Services. The producer works closely with members of the technician team, as well as the Producing, Multimedia and Operations teams in the delivery of our overall department initiatives.

**What will you do?**
- Leading and supporting business partners and event team members to deliver innovative production solutions that drive business results through engaging experiences in broadcast and conferencing to virtual events platforms, conference centers and in offsite event locations.
- Producing, planning and execution of events through in-person, remote and hybrid workflows, directing internal and external teams and talent to ensure the seamless execution of the event agenda and show flows. This would include pre-production management, budget management, preferred AV & production services vendor engagement and supplier management, technical service delivery supervision, and virtual event platform integrations for virtual & hybrid events in keeping with Sun Life guidelines
- Lead and running well organized first information in-take calls, dress rehearsals, technical rehearsals, scene blocking.
- Technical operation and mastery of complex & advanced virtual production workflows, broadcast and video equipment, software & hardware switchers, IP protocol integrations, multi-channel audio systems and video editing capabilities.
- Delivery of complex multi-cam production workflows, on set digital signage signal flow, control room operations and studio style workflows.
- Integration of far side digital and remote contributors into live productions and signal flows such as audio mix minus, virtual cameras, video conference endpoints that enhance the far side experience.
- Manage integration of tertiary accessibility support services for production like live interpretation, captioning and ASL and maintaining adherence to accessibility standards where applicable for broadcast.
- Adopt and adapt to new equipment, systems, and platforms.
- Production management through department systems, invoicing, expense and time tracking, and reporting on business savings. Obtaining approvals and forecasting costs for events.
