About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support construction of a master-planned development in Burnaby composed of multiple concrete high-rise towers. This role will work directly with the leadership team to support delivery of the project pipeline, and will have the opportunity to develop into a more senior position overseeing the larger development once the initial building is completed.

Role Description

You will oversee management oversight of all phases of the construction project, including employees, subcontractors, materials and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding with quality, on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

  1. Oversee day-to-day planning and management of a concrete tower development, with responsibility for project planning, establishing objectives, policies, procedures, performance standings, quality control, and risk analysis.
  2. Effectively communicate with owners, consultants and sub trades to ensure project stays on budget and schedule.
  3. Responsible for tendering, negotiation, scope definition, and contract design for project procurement.
  4. Management of on-site personnel including Superintendents, Foremen and Support Staff.
  5. Oversee project set-up, scheduling, and cost control.
  6. Direct regular site meetings with sub-contractors, architects and consultants.
  7. Work with superintendents to deliver safety-oriented, on schedule, high quality projects.
  8. Prepare progress invoices/sub trade invoices; change orders to Owner and Sub trades.
  9. Project close out.
  10. Provide guidance to junior team members, including Project Managers and Project Coordinators.

Skills and Requirements

  1. Experience as a project manager on a concrete high rise tower development.
  2. Extensive experience working on concrete buildings, with a high level of technical understanding around foundation, slab, shotcrete, etc.
  3. Desire to work directly with the senior leadership team and support the continuing growth of the company on a long-term basis.
  4. Proven ability to lead a dynamic team with multiple priorities.
  5. Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  6. Ability to find quick solutions and implement them proactively as problems arise day-to-day.
