Job Purpose:
We are seeking a dedicated and strategic leader to join our dynamic team as a Terminal Manager. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the operations of our Toronto terminal, ensuring efficient management of daily activities and leading our team to deliver exceptional service. Your expertise will be key for the planning, directing, and overseeing of the activities and staff at the Toronto Terminal.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the terminal, ensuring efficient and effective management.
- Manage and allocate staff resources, including hiring, training scheduling and performance evaluation of terminal employees.
- Perform related administrative functions, such as establishing goals, monitoring progress, preparing reports, and participating in budgetary analysis.
- Coordinate activities with other Company District Managers and the General Manager to determine and meet service needs.
- Emphasize employee supervision and maintain effective employee relations, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Maintain a clean and organized terminal environment in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with unions, negotiating contracts and addressing labor disputes, as required
- Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in technology that may impact terminal operations.
- Participate in management/staff meetings and prepare periodic and special reports.
- Organize and optimize the terminal's workflow, including the coordination of manpower.
- Verify and approve all invoices related to the Terminal operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Three years of directly related supervisory experience in a transportation or logistics environment.
- A graduate of a Community College or University with a degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Considerable knowledge of applicable legislation, terminal operations management techniques, policies, and procedures.
- Extensive experience in a unionized environment, including negotiation, grievance procedures, conflict resolution skills, and knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Thorough understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and techniques.
- Working knowledge of related administrative considerations, such as workflow and budgetary analysis.
- Ability to supervise, direct, and motivate a large number of employees, both directly and through subordinate supervisors, providing guidance on strategic, operational, and technical matters.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, time management, and report-writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

Devoirs et responsabilités :
- Superviser les opérations quotidiennes du terminal, en assurant une gestion efficace et efficiente.
- Gérer et affecter les ressources en personnel, y compris l'embauche, l'établissement du calendrier de formation et l'évaluation du rendement des employés des terminaux.

Qualifications et expérience :
