Responsibilities, but not limited to:

The Director of Operations is the primary liaison between their Regional and District Managers (RM and DM’s), assigned franchisees and corporate office. The Director of Operations provides leadership, coaching and assistance to assigned RM’s and DM’s, franchisees and corporate managers to achieve organizational and stakeholder objectives. Utilizing knowledge of restaurant operations as well as industry knowledge and experience provides counsel, advice and assistance to impact and improve operational efficiencies, guest satisfaction, sales, profits, and operating standards. The Director of Operations plays a key role in setting and executing the strategic direction of the Operations Department.

  • Communicates with RM’s, DM’s, Corporate Managers and Franchisees to assist them in the resolution of business and franchise issues and to find solutions to business problems or opportunities through consultation, financial analysis, strategic planning, coaching and support.
  • Conduct frequent restaurant visitations and consultations to identify key business opportunities and potential issues, to ensure proper standards are being maintained, and to coach and develop the DM’s, RM’s, Corporate Managers and Franchisees.
  • Prepares and a manages annual budget for the Operations Department and analyzes initiatives of the department by reviewing and evaluating business plans, sales budgets, Corporate Restaurant performance, team success and following up appropriate courses of action.
  • Supports the DM’s and RM’s by providing coaching and direction and monitoring and managing timelines, goals and objectives.
  • Provides general direction and feedback to The Training Department and are an active member and participant of a number of cross functional committees and teams.
  • Develops and initiates opportunities for departmental excellence by analyzing the processes and standards by which the department operates, identifying focus areas and making continual improvements.
  • Provides input into Market Meetings by assisting in preparation, planning and delivering the content.
  • Provides input and assists in the planning and delivery of content for Cross Functional & Team Meetings to share best practices, support and educate / develop the team and discuss business challenges / opportunities as well as to initiate and align business objectives and strategic directions for the organization.

Profile :

  • Post-Secondary education in business or related field or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • 5 years minimum in a multi unit role in a quick service or casual dining franchise restaurant environment.
  • Strong relationship-building skills; confidence, maturity, assuredness
  • Ability to motivate and influence.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively negotiate and resolve conflict
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Experience in managing budgets, forecasting and strategic planning in a retail or quick service business environment
  • Detail oriented; strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
  • Advanced analytical skills and business acumen
  • Competent computer skills – Microsoft Office
  • Ability to influence, motivate and direct a team with demonstrated abilities to achieve and exceed desired results
  • Ability to identify key business opportunities for the organization
  • Ability to read, write and speak French preferred but not required
