Job Description
Ocean Import Coordinator (3 Month Contract)
Monday to Friday – 40hrs a week
We are a Freight Forwarding Company looking to hire an Ocean Import CSR Agent to serve as a point of contact for the customer and overseas agents. This will ensure operational excellence, high productivity, and customer satisfaction at the file level for all import shipments into Canada and the USA.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure customer satisfaction and retention by answering all customer inquiries within the same day whenever feasible or within 24-hours of inquiry, including exceptions, rates, other fees, and track & trace.
  2. Further increase customer satisfaction and business share through proactive and regular contact.
  3. Plan, organize, and oversee operational logistics of the organization.
  4. Resolve freight-related issues; prepare and submit reports.
  5. Communicate with and ensure release of the freight from ocean carriers.
  6. Arrange for pick-up of cargo from carrier location.
  7. Notify customer/broker of arrival and charges.
  8. Arrange transportation of freight to consignee destination.
  9. Update internal electronic systems as required.
  10. Other duties as requested.

Education:
Secondary School
Previous Freight Forwarding knowledge is an asset.

Skills:

  1. COMMUNICATION & PRESENTATION: Ability to shape conversations to ensure focus and understanding, effective listening, willingness to engage in constructive confrontation, and ability to clearly and concisely present both written and/or oral information.
  2. ACCOUNTABILITY: Readiness to provide alternatives and optimized solutions to the Customer.
  3. CUSTOMER ORIENTATION: Readiness to continuously focus on identifying and meeting customers' current and future needs, readiness to provide alternatives and optimized solutions to the Customer, and ability to establish a successful long-term business partnership with internal and external customers.
  4. RESULT ORIENTATION: Planning & Organizing (Ability to prioritize, plan, assign & control), time management (monitoring performance against deadlines and milestones).

Languages: Excellent command of verbal and written English.
