Job Title: Payroll & Billing Clerk

Rate of Pay: $20.00/hour to start

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm

Location: Mississauga, Ontario - Dixie Road & Courtney Park

Job Type: Ongoing Temporary

We are hiring a Payroll & Billing Assistant for our client's payroll processing team in Mississauga. Our client is involved in the staffing industry and processes weekly payroll for several branch locations across Canada. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills and thrive in a task-oriented role. We are looking for candidates that excel in fast-paced environments and who are eager to learn

Regular Tasks & Responsibilities:

  1. Process employee payroll using client/employee provided timesheets (weekly or biweekly payroll, driver mileage, commission, etc.)
  2. Prepare and issue invoices to customers on a weekly basis
  3. Compile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance, and other deductions
  4. Follow up with clients about payments, payment information, or billing issues via phone or email
  5. Resolve any customer or branch payroll concerns or inquiries
  6. Manage all third-party deductions and correspondence as required
  7. Process payroll tax reports and transfer-related payments
  8. Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills
  9. Ensure strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records
  10. Other general administrative duties as assigned

Experience & Education Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar payroll or billing role
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) certification preferred
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant payroll or accounting field
  • Knowledge of payroll and accounting procedures and payroll tax laws required
  • Strong computer skills and intermediate knowledge of MS Excel and Outlook required
  • Strong attention to detail, and numbers and task-oriented
  • Team-oriented and personable nature
