Toromont Cat Power is looking for a Fleet Manager to join their team The Rental Fleet Manager is responsible for rental fleet availability and uptime for the 500+ Power Systems rental fleet assets. He/she is responsible for the execution of all maintenance and repairs for the fleet through our Regional Service Centers.

In a typical day, YOU will:
  1. Work with service supervisors, advisors, and coordinators at all Regional Service Centers to schedule and keep track of progress with repairs, ensuring prompt return to ready (R2R).
  2. Work with EMS department to track progress of maintenance events.
  3. Prioritize repair decisions based on feedback from the sales team and equipment needs.
  4. Advise on fleet replacement vs. rebuild decisions based on equipment age, hours, and availability of new units for fleet upload.
  5. Regional Service Center contacts are responsible for scheduling technicians with customers, creating work orders complete with segments, updating service scheduler, and ordering parts.
  6. Maintain fleet availability and status tracking across ECAN using CatScan receivers and shippers, and through the Rental Dashboard.
  7. Share fleet availability with Sales and Operations teams on a daily basis.
  8. Identify and schedule appropriate service letters, trailer safety inspections, stay current with CSA / TSSA / Canada Transport regulations and upfits (new and used equipment).
  9. Answer technical questions pertaining to specific repairs, required parts specific to the fleet, paralleling and capability questions, etc.
  10. Assist with processing outside supplier orders and invoicing including freight, contractors, and equipment orders.
Must-haves for this role:
  1. Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  2. Caterpillar and/or Power Systems industry experience.
  3. Strong Analytical / data analysis abilities and business acumen.
  4. A collaborative, team player with strong relationship building and customer service focus/experience.
  5. Effective, experienced negotiation skills.
  6. Strong organizational and planning skills and sense of urgency.
  7. Self-motivated, strong initiative, results driven with strong agility and execution.
  8. Able to adapt to changing priorities and schedules often.
  9. Proficient with Excel and other Microsoft applications; quick to learn/adopt new technology/software.
  10. Post Secondary education in Business Administration or Commerce required or relevant technical experience.
