About the Role

This is a full-time role with a schedule centered around the U.S. East Coast time zone (GMT -5). While this is a remote position, the small size of our sales support staff makes this role such that your consistent availability throughout each workday is very much required.

The Sales Director will be instrumental in driving VeraSafe’s sales strategies and efforts across all markets. This role demands a visionary leader with proven expertise in fostering high-performing teams and executing growth-focused strategies in B2B cybersecurity or legal sectors. Given the nature of our services, we are particularly interested in candidates with substantial legal experience. Ideally, you will have a background in legal sales or have worked as an attorney. As part of this small team, you’ll be a critical player in building new client relationships at our firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with VeraSafe’s mission and market goals
  • Be a friendly, warm, and highly professional first point of contact for many of our firm’s future clients
  • Host a large number of sales calls, along with support from other VeraSafe team members
  • Prepare complex proposals requiring both substantive knowledge of our services and exceptional attention to detail in all respects
  • Ensure good data governance in our CRM
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met with VeraSafe’s solutions. Act as a senior representative in negotiations
  • Innovate sales processes and methodologies to enhance performance and market penetration. This will require careful consideration of cross-functional impacts and process dependencies
  • Lead, inspire, train/develop and mentor a small team of sales professionals. Establish clear performance metrics and foster an environment of accountability and excellence
  • Monitor and report on sales targets and performance metrics, implementing improvements and strategic changes where necessary
  • Represent VeraSafe at industry events
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify new market opportunities, product offerings, and revenue streams to drive business growth and innovation
  • Own our sales process and pursue excellence by optimizing sales processes, tools, and resources to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Streamline workflows, eliminate bottlenecks, and leverage technology to automate routine tasks and enable sales team productivity. Ensure alignment between sales operations and other functional areas, such as marketing, customer service, and product development, to maximize synergy and drive holistic business outcomes.

Areas of Functional Accountability

You’ll manage a small team. You’ll inspire them to excel in their roles and exceed performance targets. You’ll foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, empowering team members to achieve their full potential. You’ll set clear expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and recognize and reward top performers. Your small team (including a dedicated full-time sales admin) will successfully execute all responsibilities of the sales function, including:

  • Frequent updates to and hygiene of our CRM and task management system
  • Recordkeeping related to our deals
  • Promptly respond to new leads and prospects
  • Sales call scheduling
  • Customizing pitch deck templates
  • Taking sales notes during sales calls

Skills Required

  • At least 8 years of leadership experience in sales, particularly in B2B environments within the law or cybersecurity sectors
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, a plus
  • Ability to build a connection/bond with new prospective clients and start the client relationship on the right foot
  • Exceptional attention to detail required
  • Meticulous organizational skills required (e.g., a habit of strictly setting reminders such as for sales follow-ups, and the discipline to execute on such reminders/alerts)
  • Comfort making decisions, taking initiative, and trusting your instincts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of motivating and leading a team
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal
