Payroll Specialist - Remote, Permanent Position
Our client, a reputable non-profit organization, is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their team on a remote, permanent basis. As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees, while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Input employee data and payroll information into the payroll system with precision.
Maintain organized and accurate payroll records, including employee data, deductions, and tax information.
Actively participate in payroll audits and provide required documentation as needed.
Respond promptly and professionally to employee inquiries regarding payroll or benefits.
Prepare and reconcile payroll taxes, WCB, WSIB, and EHT payments.
Serve as a subject matter expert on Time and Attendance systems in relation to payroll functions.
Assist with year-end payroll activities, including T4 processing and distribution, ensuring compliance with both federal and provincial regulations.
Administer group benefits plans, including setting up new members, processing benefit changes, calculating payroll deductions/taxable benefits, and ensuring timely completion of related paperwork.
Continuously develop, implement, and support efficient payroll practices and procedures.
At least 3 years of experience in a Payroll Administrator or similar role, with comprehensive knowledge of full-cycle payroll processes and procedures.
Proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced functions like Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and HLOOKUPs.
Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and payroll processing.
A University or College diploma/degree in finance or accounting is an asset.
