Systems Testing/QA Specialist

Pay range: C$350 - 400/hr


Evaluation Criteria: Manual Testing Skills/Experience - 65%
  1. 5+ years experience developing Test Cases/Scripts and Data Requirements, develop test scenarios, and test cases for manual testing.
  2. 5+ years experience developing test cases/scripts as well as test data, ensuring all of the Business requirements are met by creating a traceability matrix.
  3. 5+ years of experience developing technical testing strategies/plans.
  4. 5+ years of experience testing non-functional requirements (e.g. fail-over, component response times, data integrity, security).
  5. 5+ years experience executing testing activities for a number of types of testing:
    1. Integration testing
    2. Unit testing
    3. Regression testing
    4. Functional testing
    5. Accessibility testing
    6. Non-functional testing
  6. Demonstrated experience in developing test plans, test scripts, and test data; documenting software defects and tracking resolutions.
  7. Experience with User Acceptance Testing and providing sprint reviews.

Soft Skills - 30%
  1. Experience with agile methodology.
  2. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  4. Excellent meeting facilitation skills to gather requirements.
  5. Experience reporting progress on deliverables to team, project leads, and management, including proactively raising risks/issues with mitigations.
  6. Strong stakeholder management skills.
  7. Demonstrated experience working with clients and technical teams to ensure effective resolution of defects and management of change requests are complete.
  8. Experience with User Acceptance Testing and providing sprint reviews.
Public Sector Experience – 5%
  1. Experience in testing enterprise-level systems and exposure to ministry QA processes and standards within OPS.
  2. Previous experience working in Government or Public Sector organizations.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of Public Sector applications, databases, and systems while testing.
  4. Experience working in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Ontario Public Service.
  5. Working knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

Must Haves:
  1. 5+ years experience developing Test Cases/Scripts and Data Requirements, developing test scenarios, and test cases for manual testing.
  2. 5+ years experience developing test cases/scripts as well as test data, ensuring all of the Business requirements are met by creating a traceability matrix.
