The Solutions Manager is responsible for delivering leading warehouse designs to support Business Development activities and existing client operations. Solutions range from facility planning, network design, transportation planning and routing & scheduling. You will be heavily involved in new business pursuits and the costing, project management, equipment specifications, operational and physical warehouse setup involved in delivering your designs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Collaborate closely with Business Development team in pre-sales engagement and client facing consultancy, including meeting clients, site visits, and assessing the opportunity.
  2. Work with Operations management teams to identify and implement cost reduction, productivity improvement, and service level improvement opportunities.
  3. Conduct operational feasibility studies, analyze data, and design and implement facility layouts and material handling equipment specifications.
  4. Conduct transportation cost and data analysis to assess and optimize carrier and customer networks.
  5. Support continuous improvement by leading and/or supporting operational initiatives.
  6. Analyze productivity levels and develop standards for best practices using industrial engineering techniques.
  7. Incorporate corporate vision, culture, and goals into business solution designs.
  8. Work effectively with all staff to create a unified approach to change initiatives.
  9. Assist with the development of capital budgets when required.
  10. Recommend best practices on preventative maintenance for the facility and operational equipment.
  11. Support the development of site specifications for existing and new business opportunities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  1. Post secondary education and/or a combination of relevant experience and education.
  2. Experience in logistics, specifically in distribution/fulfillment centre operations utilizing a WMS.
  3. Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD, and Transportation Network Modelling applications.
  4. Strong knowledge of transportation management system concepts (TMS, Network optimization) and process flows.
  5. Ability to build and drive collaboration between solutions and other functional areas.
  6. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  7. Ability to effectively manage and implement change in a team-based culture.
