The Manager, Finance Airport Operations is responsible for the maintenance and application of WAA’s financial controls, preparation and consolidation of WAA’s financial statements, budgeting and forecasting of operating expenses with all department leaders (excluding subsidiaries). The role is responsible for the management of day-to-day functions of the Finance Department (excluding subsidiary finance functions). The incumbent is responsible for the management oversight and guidance of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable employees in the YWG and WAA corporate entities and has the Market Analyst as a dotted line report.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide input, guidance, fiscal and resource planning to WAA;
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual company and consolidated financial statements and related reports;
  • Manage the WAA and YWG corporate credit card portfolio and prepare operational budgets, and review monthly variances for the same entities;
  • Responsible for the accurate completion and filing of tax returns including GST, PST, foreign withholding tax and corporate income tax returns (excluding subsidiaries);
  • Manage treasury functions, ensuring sufficient capital is available to meet obligations while ensuring excess capital is invested prudently;
  • Liaise with external auditors and implement their recommendations;
  • Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with relevant WAA stakeholders and has discretionary decision-making authority with regard to matters of operational importance to WAA;
  • Manage and provide guidance to direct reports, including hiring, training, developing, discussing performance, conducting appraisals, investigating and discussing matters that may lead to discipline or termination;
  • Support the Director, Finance in the development of business strategies and plans to drive improvements to departmental efficiency and customer satisfaction;
  • Track and enforce service level standards and key performance indicators related to relevant external service providers; and
  • Participate in Monthly Management meetings, Corporate strategic planning and other leadership activities as required.

Selection Criteria include:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with three years (minimum) of senior accounting or finance experience;
  • Completion of Professional Accounting Designation (CA, CMA, CGA);
  • Budgeting and cost management skills;
  • Strong leadership skills with previous management experience outside of public practice;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional business partners to achieve results;
  • Ability to motivate others to achieve goals and objectives in a time-sensitive environment;
  • Resourcefulness and the ability to manage multiple initiatives with strong prioritization skills;
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on additional or new responsibilities;
  • Strong financial accounting skills (knowledge of IFRS) and how it pertains to the organization;
  • Fundamental understanding of tax laws and how they pertain to the organization;
  • Superior analytical, written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong problem solving skills;
  • Organized and detail oriented with good time management skills, with ability to multitask and meet deadlines;
  • Technical aptitude and ability to learn and maximize the use of new software programs;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to sort and analyze large volumes of data;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and experience drafting presentations; and
  • High level proficiency in financial software systems.

La personne titulaire du poste assure la gestion des activités quotidiennes des Finances (à l’exception des fonctions financières des filiales). Elle est responsable de gérer, de superviser et de conseiller les employés chargés des comptes créditeurs et des comptes clients au sein des sociétés appartenant à l’AAW et à l’aéroport international James-Armstrong-Richardson de Winnipeg, et relève indirectement de l’analyste des marchés.

Responsabilités

  • Fournir des renseignements et des conseils à l’AAW, et effectuer une planification de son budget et de ses ressources.
  • Préparer mensuellement, trimestriellement et annuellement des états financiers de l’entreprise, des états financiers consolidés et des rapports connexes.
  • Gérer le portefeuille de cartes de crédit de l’AAW et de l’aéroport international James-Armstrong-Richardson de Winnipeg, préparer des budgets de fonctionnement et examiner les écarts mensuels pour ces mêmes entités.
  • Produire et présenter des déclarations de revenus en s’assurant de l’exactitude des renseignements qui y figurent, notamment des déclarations relatives à la taxe sur les produits et services, à la taxe de vente provinciale, aux retenues d’impôts à l’étranger et à l’impôt sur les bénéfices (en excluant les filiales).
  • Gérer les fonctions de trésorerie en veillant à ce que le capital soit suffisant pour respecter les obligations et que l’excédent soit investi prudemment.
  • Communiquer avec des vérificateurs externes et mettre en œuvre leurs recommandations.
  • Établir et entretenir des relations avec les intervenants de l’AAW concernés et exercer un pouvoir décisionnel discrétionnaire quant aux questions ayant une importance pour l’AAW sur le plan opérationnel.
  • Gérer et conseiller des subordonnés directs. Il peut s’agir d’embaucher ou de former des employés, de leur offrir des occasions de perfectionnement, de discuter avec eux de leur rendement, de réaliser des évaluations du rendement, et de mener des enquêtes et de discuter de questions qui peuvent donner lieu à la prise de mesures disciplinaires à l’égard de certains employés ou à leur licenciement.
  • Aider le directeur, Finances à élaborer des stratégies et des plans d’affaires pour favoriser l’amélioration de l’efficacité du service et de la satisfaction des clients.
  • Assurer un suivi des normes de service et des principaux indicateurs de rendement liés aux fournisseurs de services externes concernés, et les faire respecter.
  • Participer aux réunions de gestion mensuelles, à la planification stratégique de l’entreprise et à d’autres activités de leadership au besoin.

Critères de sélection

  • Baccalauréat en comptabilité ou en finances et au moins trois ans d’expérience de la comptabilité ou des finances à titre de responsable.
  • Titre comptable professionnel (CA, CMA ou CGA).
  • Habiletés en matière de budgétisation et de gestion des coûts.
  • Bonnes habiletés en matière de leadership et expérience de la gestion autre que dans le secteur public.
  • Excellentes habiletés sociales et capacité de collaborer avec des partenaires d’affaires interfonctionnels pour obtenir les résultats voulus.
  • Capacité de motiver les autres afin d’atteindre les buts et les objectifs dans un milieu où les délais sont serrés.
  • Débrouillardise et capacité de gérer de multiples initiatives grâce à de bonnes habiletés en matière d’établissement des priorités.
