The manager leads the design, implementation and evaluation of the Community Investment program and provides leadership, vision, and strategic direction to the Community Investment portfolio, namely the Santa Letter-writing Program and the Canada Post Community Foundation. As the corporate functional authority for sponsorships, the manager is responsible for developing and monitoring business development/sponsorship objectives, strategies, and plans for community investment. Develops strategic partnerships and alliances with employees, stakeholders, and internal and external enablers to execute Canada Post’s Community Investment programs.

**Responsibilities**:
Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Manager, Community Investment.
- Creates the strategic framework for the development and implementation of Canada Post’s Community Investment program (primarily the Santa Letter-writing program and the Canada Post Community Foundation) and makes recommendations in terms of strategy and approach to the Director, Corporate Events and Community Investment, Communication GMs and the VP, Communications and Public Affairs.
- Manages the research, design, planning, development, implementation, national coordination and reporting of annual Santa Letter-writing program plans, events, and campaigns, ensuring it aligns with corporate vision, mission and business strategy and is sustainable.
- Manages program budgets, including all contracted services. Directly oversees the development and production of all program collateral.
- Oversees and conducts the Canada Post Community Foundation’s annual Trustee meetings. Supports the Foundation and its Board of Trustees by providing regular updates on Canada Post’s annual fundraising program, and ensures the Foundation is represented appropriately to all internal and external audiences. Ensures all Foundation records are kept in accordance with CRA and Foundation Trust Deed requirements.

**Job Responsibilities (continued)**:
- Acts as the focal point and functional authority on business development and sponsorship activities. Guides the processes for the evaluation (ensuring adherence to the corporate Sponsorship policy) of sponsorship requests and provides recommendations to the GM, Communications Strategy and Client Services. Monitors compliance with the sponsorship policy with annual reports to the Board of Directors.
- Collaborates with key process owners in Marketing and Communications to develop strategic messages and communication vehicles to support the successful implementation of all Community Investment initiatives.
- Conducts business in a manner that promotes our corporate values and demonstrates corporate leadership behaviours. Provides leadership, coaching and development opportunities to the Officer, Community Investment.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**
- Completed post-secondary, preferably in a related field OR a combination of equivalent professional experience and training

**Experience**
- 3 to 5 years of relevant functional experience
- 2 or more years’ experience managing people
- One or more years of experience in a unionized environment an asset
- Proficient computer skills and competent with Microsoft Office programs
- Strong project management, time management and ability to prioritize tasks based on importance
- Experience in team building and leadership. Strong team player with the ability to effectively lead and collaborate across large and diverse teams.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Sound organizational, analytical, judgement and decision-making skills with proven abilities in problem solving
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain relationships
- Excellent budgeting and negotiation skills.
- Proven track record in corporate communications or a related field and experience leading large files and/or major projects.
