Temporary Full Time Community Program Supervisor

Sutton, Canada The Salvation Army Full time
The Community Program Supervisor will lead a small team supporting the programs of The Salvation Army Georgina Community Church that help to connect members of the wider community with services that meet human needs. Within the context of The Salvation Army, they will work cooperatively with the corps officers, church staff, and volunteers in all aspects of the summer programs and events.
  • Completion of a minimum of grade twelve (12)
  • Current valid Safe Food Handling and First Aid/CPR Certifications or willingness to obtain
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Minimum of three (3) months of prior related experience working and/or volunteering in community-based programs, including experience planning or implementing community events
  • Some prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Good computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office
  • Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License, a current copy of a driver’s abstract for review and verification that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required

  • Passionate for building relationships with youth, children, seniors, and members of the public in alignment with The Salvation Army’s Core Values; Hope, Service, Dignity, and Stewardship
  • Undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation
  • Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry etc.)
  • Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities
