Position Overview:

Our client, one of the leading organizations in the automotive manufacturing industry, is rapidly growing. Their C-level management is in search of a sharp individual who will help achieve the primary objectives of the Finance Team, by supporting and providing guidance to have a better understanding of the company’s financial performance and improving results.


What will you be doing?

  • Oversee the development, maintenance, monitoring, and organization of bills of materials for manufactured products, ensuring precise allocation of resources such as labor and overhead.
  • Handle the financial aspects related to quality deductions and processes involving shipping chargebacks/pass-throughs.
  • Work closely with logistics and materials teams to optimize spending on freight and enhance inventory management.
  • Manage capital assets, including tracking purchases, conducting reconciliations, and assessing depreciation, while supporting senior team members in preparing capital asset proposals.
  • Manage prepaid expenses, conduct reconciliations, and oversee various other expenditures, including those related to labor, overhead, and S&A.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, exploring avenues for potential revenue generation, government grants, and other strategies.
  • Analyze and provide insights into variances for divisional management.
  • Conduct various reconciliations, both ad hoc and recurring, particularly those affecting cost accounts like intercompany purchases.
  • Generate regular internal reports for the Controller and senior management on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Perform financial analysis on ongoing operations and upcoming projects.
  • Effectively mentor and utilize junior analysts, offering guidance and support as needed.
  • Assist in month-end financial reporting and play a key role in the month-end closing process.
  • Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly re-forecasts.
  • Support banking activities and facilitate vendor payment processing when required.
  • Coordinate with vendors to address any emerging issues.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Receiving to resolve operational challenges.
  • Ad-hoc responsibilities as required


Must Haves:

  • Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, or commerce
  • 2+ years of experience in costing, financial analysis, or audit is essential.
  • Experience in costing, manufacturing, and/or bill of material management is required
  • CPA, or within 2 years of completion of a CPA designation is an asset
  • Familiarity with SAP is required
  • MS Office experience is essential
  • Highly motivated and focused on achieving results.
  • Attentive to detail.
  • Capable of leading projects involving cross-functional teamwork.
  • Quick learner.
  • Understanding of general custom manufacturing processes is an asset.
  • Proficient in computer systems.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of interacting with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Skilled in making presentations to groups.
  • Demonstrates discretion and maintains confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
