Job SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Site Inspector to join our team PMCM. Sector. As a member of PMCM, you will perform site inspections for municipal infrastructure construction projects on behalf of our clients in the Toronto and GTA area. Watermain/sewer construction and 5 years of trenchless technology experience are required.Responsibilities & QualificationsDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- As a Senior Site Inspector, your role, will be to monitor, document, support material testing and ensure conformance of quality and quantity standards at a senior level.
- Assist the project Contract Administrator and Project Manager with various administrative duties, as required.
- Prepare and submit detailed daily reports and record keeping.
- Report on and aid the resolution of construction issues, as they arise.
- Attend site meetings, take meeting notes, and assist in the preparation of site meeting minute reports.
- Monitor Contract quantities and assist in the preparation of Change Directives and Change Orders.
- Coordinate and liaise between Clients, Contractors, Partner Consultants and Municipalities/Agencies.
- Prepare/assist with responses to Contractor’s RFI’s and other clarifications.
- Evaluate contractor performance to ensure project deliverables and quality standards are achieved.
- Maintain regular communication with the project team, and clients regarding project status, site issues, project quality and resolutions, as required.
- Collect as-constructed data.
- Follow/champion construction safety procedures and policies in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
- Implement and monitor inspection procedures in accordance with professional, corporate and client requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of local, and provincial building codes, construction principles, industry standards, and procedures, occupational hazards, and safety precautions.
- Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
- Registered or eligible for registration with PEO as an EIT, PEng or OACETT as a CET or CTech.
- A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated site inspection experience in liner construction with at least 3 years trenchless construction experience is required.
- Experience working on City of Toronto projects including Builterra is considered an asset.
- MTO Class ‘G’ driver’s license in good standing and access to a personal vehicle.
- Knowledge of Canadian Contract Law and the Construction Lien Act.
- First Aid Training, Confined Space Awareness/Entry, Working at Heights, OTM Book 7 etc., would be beneficial, however TYLIN will provide training, as required.
- Survey knowledge using total station and handheld GPS devices.
- Strong MS office knowledge.
- AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
- Ability to work as part of a team of Site Inspectors, Contract Administrators, and Project Managers in an open and sharing environment.
