Under the direction of a Clinical Services Supervisor, and in partnership with the Clinical Services team, the Speech-Language Pathologist will provide service to clients of Pathways Health Centre for Children, through Community-based Rehabilitation Services and School-based Rehabilitation Services, with the local Indigenous communities, and other programs needing Speech-Language support.

This includes but may not be limited to screenings, assessments, intervention supports, consultation, swallowing and feeding screenings* and counselling and education to families, primary caregivers, schools and the community.

*The Entrance to School (ETS) program is part of the new service offerings through the Ontario Autism Program (OAP). This program will support families with young children up to 6 years of age who are registered with the OAP and who are starting school for the first time (either Kindergarten or grade one). The group-based program will focus on preparing children to enter school, and target skill-building within the following six domains: communication, play, social interaction, functional routines, behavioural self-management, pre-academics, and learning and attention. Children will attend for up to six months of service, either mornings or afternoons, five days per week. The Speech-Language Pathologist is part of a multidisciplinary team supporting the children and families accessing this program. Following the 6-month group program, children will transition to school, and the Speech Language Pathologist will support transition to the school.
