We are seeking a Pension Team Lead to join our BPA team in Mississauga.

The Pension Supervisor is responsible for the effective day-to-day administration of our Client Pension Plans. This individual will lead a team of pension professionals.

The Pension Team Lead will:
  1. Provide leadership and motivation to the team responsible for maintaining accurate defined benefit and/or defined contribution pension plan records, calculations, and communication based on plan provisions, actuarial assumptions, and legislative rules.
  2. Perform peer reviews and participate in the production of daily work, year-end validations, annual statements, and regulatory filings.
  3. Run reports and provide analysis of team and client metrics to managers.
  4. Manage requests, deadlines, workloads, and staff assignments to meet client deliverables.
  5. Ensure the team meets company and client service standards.
  6. Develop, coordinate/facilitate, and maintain training for staff on systems, administrative processes, plan interpretations, and current legislative requirements.
  7. Resolve and troubleshoot issues that arise.
  8. Handle escalations from members and clients.
  9. Participate in projects and company initiatives to find and implement new processes, compliance, and solutions.
  10. Be responsible for internal controls and accuracy.
  11. Participate in the recruitment of new staff and interviews.
  12. Facilitate performance reviews and manage personnel and HR policies.
  13. Monitor and maintain high team engagement and morale.
  14. Collaborate with other members of the BPA pension teams to support overall department goals and objectives.
  15. Contribute to business growth as a key member of the company’s leadership team.
To be successful as a Pension Team Lead with BPA, you will need:
  1. Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a customer service environment, preferably related to defined benefit pension administration.
  2. Detailed knowledge of defined benefit pension plan administration, actuarial assumptions, CIA recommendations, and legislative regulations for Ontario and other jurisdictions.
  3. Ability to interpret, apply, and communicate changes to pension provisions and regulations.
  4. Strong people, leadership, and coaching skills.

  2. Excellent written and verbal communication.
  3. Strong problem-solving skills.
  4. Good understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
