Morrison Hershfield’s Integrated Engineering Design (IED) group provides integrated engineering solutions to institutional, industrial, residential and commercial clients with a focus on Mission Critical and Telecom facilities that require reliable and cost-effective infrastructure for both new and retrofit solutions. The combined skills of our engineers, technicians and support personnel with their diverse backgrounds in design and construction provide clients with a team recognized as leaders in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Providing direction to planning and engineering staff in the preparation of environmental assessments, feasibility studies, functional and preliminary design, detail design and in conducting comprehensive stakeholder consultations.
  • Preparing and managing project budgets, work plans and schedules.
  • Communicating with clients, agencies, stakeholders and the public.
  • Overseeing complex evaluations of planning and design alternatives.
  • Preparing correspondence, reports and proposals.
  • Staff development and mentoring.
  • Supporting business development and proposal preparation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years’ proven experience managing large scale projects independently.
  • Progressive experience in the buildings facilities engineering industry preliminary and detail design, and construction administration experience, working with projects under various jurisdictions (regional and municipal).
  • Demonstrated ability as a project manager of multi-disciplinary project teams specifically related to assessments and functional / preliminary and detail design assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clients and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of municipal, provincial and federal environmental assessment legislation and related agency approvals processes.
  • Experience with business development and proposal preparation.
  • Possesses good oral and written communication skills.
