Overview Of The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development and systems analysis, with demonstrated experience as a Senior Programmer Analyst. This role requires a deep understanding of technical and business requirements, the ability to design and implement effective technical solutions, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

What You Ll Be Doing In The Role
  • Develop and thoroughly document all system components, interfaces, and operational environments.
  • Create detailed designs for data structures, files, subsystems, modules, programs, batch and online procedures, production monitoring, and testing strategies.
  • Document system designs, concepts, and features, present detailed system designs for approval, and ensure all aspects are well-documented.
  • Write comprehensive user manuals covering manual processes and operational procedures, define user acceptance testing checklists, and secure user acceptance.
  • Establish and document system-specific standards for programming, documentation, and testing, including program libraries, data dictionaries, and naming conventions.
  • Initiate hardware and software acquisitions, develop conversion plans and parallel operation procedures, and estimate resource and cost requirements.
WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU LL NEED TO DO THE JOB:
  • A university degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of demonstrated experience in Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Senior Programmer Analyst, focusing on programming and analysis.
  • Ability to work in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
  • Experience working with Provincial Health Care and/or Regional Health Authority applications.
  • Proven experience in developing, documenting, coding, testing, and implementing technical solutions to meet business requirements.
  • At least 10 years of experience with database systems such as Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Experience working with JAVA.
  • Proficiency in using Oracle reports.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Over 3 years of experience with version control software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders and team members.
