Westland Insurance Group Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Commercial Sales at our Surrey Head Office, with a hybrid work model. Are you an expert in commercial insurance with advanced technical skills? Are you passionate about mentoring and sharing your knowledge with Account Executives? Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $144,000 to $160,000 based on a 35-hour work week. Actual offered salary will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as market conditions for the role, and internal equity.
Westland also offers a competitive annual short-term incentive program that enables employees to share in the rewards of the business and emphasizes the measures that are key to our success.

As a Director, Commercial Sales, you will lead a team of Commercial Account Executives in several BC offices, providing leadership and oversight in connection with sales processes across the region. You will assist in representing Westland Insurance Group Ltd. to the BC insurance markets and implement and support Westland’s key initiatives and goals.

- Minimum 5 years in Commercial Insurance Account Management and Sales experience plus minimum 3-5 years leadership experience
- Level 3 General Insurance License
- Bonus One of the CAIB, CIP, FCIP, and CRM designations

- Lead a team of commercial lines Account Executives, providing oversight, driving performance, and ensuring adherence to growth processes
- Collaborate with the Leader of the Commercial Servicing Team to support client retention and deliver necessary account services
- Partner with the Marketing team to ensure high-quality submissions to markets
- Work closely with our industry partners to deliver the best insurance solutions for our clients
- Engage with clients, prospects, and insurance partners to support Account Executives in delivering exceptional service
- Set individual goals, provide consistent performance coaching, and feedback, and identify and develop internal talent for future commercial segment roles
- Leverage software and applications to manage and convert leads
- Travel as necessary
