Reporting to the Group Sales Manager, the Retail Lead is responsible for overseeing the successful day-to-day operation of a retail store department.
Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and leadership to the team members of the department, in partnership with the manager.
- Delegate tasks and work assignments to team members by giving clear and concise direction, and follow up to ensure proper execution.
- Foster the growth and development of team members by training on various standard operating procedures and processes.
- Ensure team members follow all standard operating procedures and systems processes, following up to provide correction and guidance when needed, and reporting violations to the manager.
- Perform administrative tasks related to their assigned department.
- Provide legendary customer service by identifying and evaluating customers’ needs, and making product recommendations based on this analysis.
- Promote company programs to team members and customers.
- Maintain visual presentation standards including in-store signage, merchandise recovering/front facing, restocking, remerchandising, dusting, and vacuuming sales floor as needed.
- Respond to and resolve customer issues by using good judgment and logic in solving problems and making decisions within the job scope.
- Assist in other areas of the store when business needs dictate.
Qualifications:
- Two or more years of supervisory experience in a sales or service environment is preferred.
- Open availability – this position will be required to work store opening and closing shifts, as well as on weekends.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to evaluate customers’ needs and make recommendations based on needs.
- Ability to provide superior customer service and exceed customer expectations.
- Ability to use good judgment and logic.
- Experience in a related field or outdoor lifestyle.
- Knowledge of Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s specific products is an asset.
