About the role

Computacenter's onsite team is responsible for the pro-active support and resolution of specific client issues relating to their IT infrastructure/environment within established SLAs.

This position is part of a 5 x 8 shift (M-F) and part of a 24x7x365 support schedule. Shift and workday flexibility is required. This position will be supporting locations in Toronto and Greater Hamilton, Ontario area.

What you’ll be doing

  1. Perform activation of network ports;
  2. Provide network support with a variety of manufacturers and operating systems;
  3. Provide network support to users;
  4. Provide 24/7 escalated hardware and network support, ensuring quality and speed of problem resolution;
  5. Perform various network project tasks as assigned.

What you have

  1. Proven knowledge and troubleshooting experience in networking technologies and vendor products such as Arista and Cisco network switches, Cisco ISE, Arista and Cisco Wireless in an enterprise environment.
  2. Ability to install, configure and support enterprise network switches.
  3. Network troubleshooting of VPN connections, access layer ports, and wireless devices.
  4. Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Bonus points

  1. Previous experience in supporting Healthcare.
  2. Experience using ITIL based ticketing systems and ITSM framework.
  3. Experience with Ansible.
  4. Experience with Cisco ISE.
  5. Cisco CCNA.
  6. Experience in client-facing IT support role in an enterprise environment, ideally in 7 x 24 hour operation.

Health Care customer requirements
Before working in one of our health care customer facilities, it is a requirement to show proof of immunization which is required by the Public Hospitals Act. In a hospital setting, workers are at potential risk of acquiring a communicable disease. In addition, OMA/OHA protocols under Regulation 965 of the Public Hospitals Act require that all persons carrying out work activities on hospital premises be immune to measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chickenpox). They also require that individuals be free from active tuberculosis and participate in baseline skin testing. It is also required to have information recorded regarding pertussis vaccination status. Annual influenza vaccination is strongly recommended. For the purposes of the SickKids Staff Immunization & Surveillance Policy, the term 'Staff' refers to all persons carrying out work activities within the hospital and includes all employees, physicians, dentists, scientists, volunteers, students, independent contract workers, and observers.
