The AVP, Finance Operations is responsible for implementing finance change initiatives; achieving high scores in operational scorecard measured by key performance metrics; transforming the Finance Operation to benchmark against industrial strengths in robustness, effectiveness, and efficiency; delivering finance aspects to support business projects; recommending options on business decisions according to cost/benefits analysis among viable solutions; and making decisions relating to process effectiveness and escalation of issues.

This role reports directly to the VP Finance Operations.

What you'll do:
  • Deliver Finance Project and process improvement initiatives, supporting enterprise projects.
  • Communicate and collaborate with departmental leaders to stay abreast of financial aspects of change, cost benefits, and evaluation.
  • Assess feasibility of finance change objectives, delivery timeline, and benefits applicable to accounting, expense management, finance systems efficiency, and data integrity.
  • Uphold Finance visions in terms of value creation, customer service focus, and process simplification.
  • Mentor a group of finance managers, including setting up short and long-term goals and providing 1:1 coaching.
  • Effectively own the finance change stream to achieve company goals while developing and retaining top talents.
What you'll bring:
  • Designated accounting professionals with CA, CGA, CMA qualified or equivalent.
  • Strong accountability & ownership, professional ethics, and integrity.
  • Strong sense of customer focus, quality results orientation, managing stakeholder expectations, and timely communication.
  • Broad business knowledge in finance accounting/reporting/planning, IT/systems, underwriting, claims operations, reserving, and IFRS17.
  • Promote partnership, flexibility, adaptability, and collaborative efforts with other groups.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring skills, and staff management.
  • The ideal candidate will have 10 plus years in a progressive leadership role, specifically within Finance, with strong exposure to financial systems implementation.
  • Preferably experience in General Insurance or Life Insurance.
  • Has initiated, led, and successfully completed major change programs.
