As a Human Resources Coordinator (Status: Full-Time, Temporary from September 2024 to September 2025), you will provide Human Resources services to management and front-line staff, including recruitment, performance management, attendance support and occupational health and safety. You will also provide administrative support for Human Resources policies and programs. What will you do?
  1. Support the recruitment and selection process by preparing and distributing various documents, posting jobs, liaising with candidates and maintaining complete and accurate recruitment records.
  2. Assist in processing staff changes (hires, departures, transfers, employment changes), ensuring the appropriate communication occurs and maintaining relevant documentation.
  3. Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources (HR) team, including preparing correspondence and documents, receiving and redirecting mail, calls and correspondence as appropriate, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and meeting notes or minutes.
  4. Prepare various regular and ad hoc reports and information requests.
  5. Maintain and work within multiple internal HR databases and files.
  6. Monitor and follow up on employee compliance with various employment requirements.
  7. Update and maintain organizational charts as necessary.
  8. Participate in or support provincial initiatives or projects as needed.
What must you have?
  1. Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration or a relevant field.
  2. Minimum three (3) years previous administrative experience in an office environment, preferably in an HR role/function in a unionized environment, with a good understanding of general office administrative processes and procedures.
  3. Some knowledge of HR functions gained through experience or formal education.
  4. General knowledge of relevant HR legislation and collective agreement structure.
  5. Advanced proficiency with a variety of software programs in the Microsoft Office Suite, most notably in Outlook, Word and Excel.
  6. Excellent attention to detail and a proven ability to compose correspondence, documents, minutes of meetings, and reports that are concise, accurate and grammatically sound.
  7. Strong time management, prioritization and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and co-operatively in a busy environment.
  8. Ability to use tact and sound judgement to handle sensitive and confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.
  9. Strong customer service mindset.
  10. Solid written and verbal communication skills.

What would give you the edge?
  1. Possession of or progression towards a certification with the Human Resources Professionals Association (CHRP or CHRL).
  2. Experience in a healthcare or public sector environment.
  3. Ability to speak French or another second language.
