We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Integrated Resources Management Specialist in the Regional Operations Division of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support the delivery of regulatory aspects of natural resource development programs, including forestry, fish and wildlife, lands and waters, and aggregate programs.
- Ensure public safety and sustainable natural resource management through the delivery of various operational programs, including flood/emergency response, dam/fishway operations, and prevention of human and wildlife conflict.
- Share technical expertise with colleagues, management, and clients, including the public, industry representatives, and Indigenous peoples.
- Apply risk-based approaches and innovative problem-solving skills to guide the delivery of compliance activities.
- Valid class 'G' driver's licence or equivalent, as recognized by the Province of Ontario, to visit sites in rural or remote settings.
- Experience in developing and maintaining positive business relationships, enabling collaboration with clients, colleagues, and partners.
- Effective communication of technical information to diverse audiences, including contentious subjects.
- Ability to contribute to and strengthen high-performing teams.
- Strong client service and service delivery skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Resourceful and analytical/problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead and support the delivery of organizational priorities.
- Broad base of natural resource management technical expertise in one or more of the following program areas: forestry, fish and wildlife, public land, dam operations/emergency management, and aggregates.
- Experience conducting regulatory compliance activities using a risk-based approach, including education and outreach to gain voluntary compliance.
- Planning, coordination, and implementation of team activities that deliver organizational priorities.
