Responsibilities and Tasks
Customer Service
  1. Assess, diagnose and provide recommendations for maintenance and servicing of hockey equipment. Smiles, makes eye contact with and greets customers.
  2. Guides customer to the location of requested items.
  3. Answers questions and provides friendly advice and services to customers.
  4. Suggests value-added and related products to customers to ensure they go home with what they need.
  5. Responds to and handles customer inquiries, requests and concerns in a timely manner, over the phone and in person.
  6. Handles multiple customers in an effective and efficient manner.
  7. Deals with challenging situations in a professional manner.
  8. Learns about new products on a regular basis.
  9. Keeps up to date with in-store promotions, in-store deals and product locations.
  10. If applicable, work closely with local hockey teams and Jumpstart to service and grow the sport of hockey in the local community.
Operations
  1. Ensures that retail basics tasks are executed efficiently (e.g., stocking, labels, facing, etc.).
  2. Stocks shelves and merchandise display areas using modules and planograms as guidelines.
  3. Hockey equipment repairs such as Skate Sharpening.
  4. Walks their assigned sections to understand what needs to be accomplished on a daily basis.
  5. Maintains inventory accuracy and identifies/reports low stock levels (e.g., hole check and bin cap analysis).
  6. Reports stolen and damaged goods to Management.
  7. Operates computer and RF gun/EFD and enters all relevant coding in Canadian Tire systems.
  8. Engages in learning activities and listens to feedback to improve their own abilities.
  9. Complies with company, store and department policies.
  10. Abides by all health and safety programs and regulations. Reports any observed or potential hazards immediately.
  11. Uses professional language and maintains a professional appearance (uniform, hygiene, grooming and name tag) when interacting with others.
  12. Completes other tasks, as required.
Requirements
  1. Product Knowledge Specialist.
  2. Currently lives/participates, ambassador of hockey lifestyle.
  3. Knowledge of hockey is essential. Player/Coach/Fan.
  4. Basic math and typing skills.
  5. Ability to work under minimal supervision with computerized systems.
  6. Experience in a customer service role and/or with Canadian Tire store is considered an asset.
