MLSE Sport Performance Lab is seeking a** **Biomechanist on a 12-month contract to conduct biomechanical research across multiple sports and team operations. This individual will coordinate with various stakeholders across MLSE to execute immediate and long-term strategic research initiatives as it pertains to athletic performance.
- Assist in the development of biomechanical tools for player evaluation, development, and health in collaboration with various team performance staff.
- Identify areas of shared research interest across team operations and drive the implementation of a unified data model to support cross-sport innovation.
- Work closely with external academic and corporate partners on initiatives that align with strategic research goals.

**Qualifications**:
- Strong academic or proven experience in Biomechanics, preferably in a high-performance sport environment.
- Showed strength working in large data sets, performing biomechanical analyses, and scripting using languages such as Python or R.
- Experience conducting basic research in the topics of sports science and high performance, demonstrating high levels of knowledge translation abilities.
- Skilled in analyzing, visualizing, and drawing insights from spatiotemporal data.
- A strong grasp of the sports industry, including the data providers and problem space.
- Thrives in a fast-paced setting; can handle multiple priorities at the same time.
- A positive, winning, and creative approach, incorporating integrity, confidentiality, and discretion.
- A strong understanding of on-field rules and off-field regulations of various sports is an asset
- Additional experience in health-related fields (e.g., human anatomy, exercise physiology, physiotherapy, athletic therapy) is a bonus.
- Knowledge of SQL is a bonus.
