Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together

As a Senior Compensation Consultant within our consulting practice, you will bring your thought leadership and in-depth knowledge of compensation trends and practices to provide strategic consulting to our clients. Your understanding of broad-based and executive compensation, total rewards, and pay equity will reinforce the design, review and implementation of compensation programs that support our clients' business and compensation policies. You are a highly analytical thinker and possess meticulous attention to detail, in addition to your expertise in client management and delivering thoughtful insights derived from complex data while coaching and mentoring junior team members.

Here’s how

  • Independently manage mid-complexity projects or modules, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to fees.
  • Serve as a primary client contact, conducting client interviews, facilitating focus groups, delivering training, and maintaining ongoing client relationships.
  • Develop and review PowerPoint presentations, Excel exhibits, and initial data conclusions for client reports while working closely with Principals/Leaders to determine client recommendations.
  • Present recommendations to senior leadership teams and board members as required.
  • Develop new tools and templates for multiple markets.
  • Write project proposals and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Participate in business development activities such as webinars and presentations.
  • Mentor and coach junior staff, including delegate tasks and evaluate performance.

You’re the missing piece of the puzzle...

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Human Resources, Actuarial Science or Accounting.
  • 7 years in a compensation role; ideally 2 years in a consulting role.
  • Business acumen: having robust market awareness of compensation trends in various industries targeting different employee profiles.
  • Data expertise: aptitude and familiarity with various sources of compensation data, including information circulars, other public filings, and published surveys.
  • Ability to navigate in client political environment.
  • Analytical and decision-making skills: ability to decipher moderately complex datasets and deliver value-added recommendations that are grounded in insight over instinct.
  • Collaboration and communication skills: being a team member that others actively seek out to partner with, who is clear, concise, and influential in all mediums of communication.
  • Comfort with working in dynamic environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and intermediate proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint.

Great-to-have:

  • Hold or working towards your CPHR/CRHA designation or equivalent.
  • Pay equity experience, understanding nuances of provincial and federal legislation.
  • Project management (leading transformational compensation programs).
  • Change management and creating compensation tools and resources.
  • Bilingual (written and conversational English and French).
